Government Agencies

There would be no affordable housing industry without the efforts of federal, state, and local government agencies. Many Reiner Communities properties involve some form of participation by all three levels of government.

Federal participation in our projects is typically in the form of transaction approvals and the assumption of existing project-based rent subsidies.  Reiner Communities works with state agencies such as the California Housing Finance Agency and the California State Treasurer's Office to issue and fund housing bonds, and to secure allocations of tax-exempt debt and low income housing tax credits. Cities and counties often provide gap financing or ground lease opportunities.

Reiner Communities enjoys favorable relationships with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the California Housing Finance Agency, State Allocation Committees, and Cities and Counties where we own and operate properties.
